My name is Randy Miller and here is a bit about me:
I have been involved with Oracle EPM since Day 1 of my first consulting job after graduating from Ohio University. I have been at it ever since and loving every day of it. I have been on too many projects to count from small and mid-market company implementations to massive implementations with some of the world’s largest corporations.
No two projects are the same and each has their own unique challenges that you have to work through. That is what makes being a consultant so attractive. It’s almost like every six to nine months I get a brand new job, full with new people to meet and new requirements to tackle.
My grandfather always loved the quote, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life” — well I am happy to report that I still don’t believe I have truly worked yet. Now saying that, there are obviously the highs and lows of any career, but the highs far outweigh the lows.
I have mainly used Hyperion Planning (+ PBCS/EPBCS), Oracle Essbase and Financial Data Management throughout my career. I did do a few year stint with with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) but that didn’t have the same allure as the other products. I have also dabbled with numerous other pieces of software from other Hyperion related products (ODI / DRM) to relational databases (MSSQL / Oracle / MySQL) and just about everything in-between. Over the last few years I have been focused on Oracle’s Cloud offerings, but I still have several clients that I help to support using the on-premise versions.
I have presented at ODTUG KScope (’17, ’22) and was selected to present at COLLABORATE, but unfortunately had scheduling conflicts and wasn’t able to present.
I was born and raised in Ohio but I currently reside in Charlotte, NC and lead the EPM Practice at Mythics, Inc.
